Due to growth of the organization there is now a great opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join the Viet Net team, based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Technical Consultant (TC) provides pre- sales technical support to Viet Net Sales Reps and customers covering all the company’s family of products. The TC makes pre-sales calls on prospective clients, participates in local and regional seminars, and acts as the technical account manager for existing customers. This is a technical position supporting Sales.


1. Responsibilities


  • The Technical Consultant (TC) provides pre-sales technical support to Sales Reps (SR) and customers covering Nimble Storage and Commvault.
  • The TC and SR work in tandem to formulate account strategies.
  • The TC makes pre-sales calls on prospective clients, participates in local and regional seminars, and acts as the technical account manager for existing customers.
  • The TC is the focal point for customer evaluations, proof of concepts, and demos.
  • The TC is expected to stay abreast of current industry technology, trends, and competition.
  • The TC will spend a considerable amount of time talking in front of customers in small (round table) discussions as well as large (seminar) audiences.
  • The TC will work in tandem with the SR(s) in fulfilling sales goals and responding to RFI/RFPs.
  • The TC may act as a focal point in case of a technical post-sales escalation for current customers. Some travel will be required.
  • The TC will perform system deployment, installation, and integration of Nimble Storage and Commvault solutions in customer environments.
  • TC’S should be self-motivated, able to work well with multiple sales reps, and be creative in obtaining information and solving problems.


2. Person Specification


General and Professional Education

Suitable qualification at graduate level


  • 1-3 years of experience selling enterprise solutions into medium/large and complex organizations using target account selling, solution selling and/or consultative sales techniques.
  • Well-known and have experience with various OS such as: Windows, Linux, Unix, and Virtualization: Hyper-V, VMWare (VCP is preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of primary critical application (Exchange, SQL, Oracle DB …), storage, data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions desired.
  • Familiarity with storage-related solutions from IBM, Dell, EMC, NetApp, HP, Compellent, Equallogic.
  • Familiarity with Backup/Recovery solutions from Symantec, EMC, IBM, HP, Veeam
  • The TC must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • The TC must be able to talk about technical subjects and deliver technical presentation to a wide array of audiences with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • The TC must be able to transfer knowledge to inexperienced customers and Reseller
  • The TC must have a desire to learn new technologies and enjoy doing “hands-on” work with Nimble Storage and Commvault technology and other relevant technologies.
  • Understanding of storage protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, CiFS, FC …
